Figure AI rules
TGIF, everyone. Meta's leading AI mind challenges Sora, calling it a misstep. Nvidia. However, Sora's rapid advancements have sparked concern among Producers, casting a shadow of doubt over the future of content creation. In the meantime, Elon took Optimus for a walk 😀
Here are the 4 interesting AI things that I learned and enjoyed this week.
4 AI Things
In our previous edition we explained GNNs. Today we gonna learn new way to understand how everything is connected, from social networks to molecules. That's what Graph Mamba Networks (GMNs) are all about. These networks are a leap forward in machine learning, especially when dealing with complex graphs. Unlike traditional methods, GMNs can see both the big picture and the tiny details, thanks to their special design. This includes breaking down networks into manageable parts and focusing on the most important connections. They're especially good for tasks that involve lots of data and complex relationships, like predicting how diseases spread or understanding how proteins fold. Plus, they're designed to be efficient, avoiding the common problem of information getting lost or "squashed" as it moves through the network. An example of their use could be in improving how we model climate change, allowing us to see how different factors interact on a global scale.

In the previous edition we saw how, Figure AI, a company making humanoid robots, got a huge investment from big names like Microsoft, and OpenAI. This company is working on robots that can do various tasks and has gathered about $2 billion. Now, what’s it planning with all that cash? Figure 01 was built by Figure AI is designed to handle high-risk tasks and aimed at reducing workforce shortages. These are humanoid robots designed to one day possibly outdo your average Joe in chores. Jeff Bezos and Nvidia announced that they are also investing in Figure AU. And poor Jeff? Well, he's just hoping his robot investment doesn't end up asking him, "Alexa, why am I always the runner-up in AI?"

Graph Mamba Networks (GMNs) are a clever way to think about solving complex problems that can be represented as networks, much like navigating through a large maze. Picture yourself standing at the entrance of a giant maze with the goal of finding the quickest route to the exit. Traditional Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) would be like trying to navigate this maze by only looking at the immediate paths around you missing the bigger picture. This approach can be limiting because it might not effectively capture the broader connections within the maze, leading to a problem known as "over-squashing.” GMNs, however, introduce a strategy akin to carrying a map that you update as you explore. As you navigate the maze, you mark paths you've taken, note dead ends, and highlight promising routes. This dynamic map helps you remember where you've been and how different parts of the maze connect, without needing to keep the entire layout in your head at all times. When you reach a new junction, you can consult your map to make an informed decision. This method not only saves time and energy but also enhances the ability to find the most effective paths through the network
4 Productivity hacks for this week.
Automated Scheduling and Calendar Management: Use AI tools to manage your calendar. These tools can schedule meetings, remind you of upcoming events. "Alexa, schedule a meeting with my team for next Wednesday at 10 AM."
Email Sorting and Prioritization: Implement AI-powered email clients that automatically sort and prioritize your inbox. This means less time sifting through emails and more time focusing on those that matter most. "Use Spark to automatically filter my emails, placing all promotional emails in a separate folder."
Task Automation: Use AI to automate repetitive tasks such as data entry, generating reports, and even responding to standard queries. "Set up Zapier to automatically enter new sales leads into our CRM system from our online forms."
AI-Powered Writing Assistants: Leverage writing tools that use AI to improve your writing. These tools can help with grammar, style, and even content generation. "Use Grammarly to enhance the clarity and engagement of my blog posts."

Did you know that Actor Tyler Perry has put a $800 million Studio expansion plan on hold? The reason behind this pause is none other than OpenAI's Sora, a text-to-video generator. Perry, Hollywood producer, voices a Hollywood-wide concern over AI's burgeoning role in filmmaking.
